Work-friends make work smoother and fun

• 90% feel that work friends make working more meaningful.

• 88% believe that the presence of work friends reduces stress during the workday.

• 84% say that working with work friends improves the quality of work.

• 82% believe that working with work friends makes work more efficient.

• 70% feel that meeting colleagues after a holiday helps with adapting back to everyday routines.

• 37% think that compared to an ordinary colleague, the presence of a work friend has a significant impact on workplace well-being.

Elo´s “work friend” survey was answered by 1,500 Finns aged 25–65 in employment. The sample was nationally representative by age, gender, and region. The survey was carried out in the consumer panel from May 16–23, 2025.
